The Tamil Nadu government is inviting applications for financial incentives aimed at candidates who qualify for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
civil services examinations in 2025. This initiative, part of the Naan Mudhalvan programme, provides monetary support at various stages of the examination process, including the preliminary, mains, and final interview stages. Also Read: UPSC CSE Mains Result 2025 Out, 2736 Qualify For Interview Financial Assistance Breakdown Under the Naan Mudhalvan programme, candidates from Tamil Nadu can receive financial assistance of Rs 7,500 for clearing the preliminary examination, Rs 25,000 for the mains, and Rs 50,000 upon qualifying for the final interview. This support aims to alleviate the financial burden on candidates and enhance their chances of success in the competitive civil services examination. Eligible candidates can submit their applications via the official portal at naanmudhalvan.tn.gov.in. The application window is open from November 13 to November 24, 2025. The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has stated that this initiative is designed to directly support candidates in their preparation for the UPSC civil services final interview stage. Support for Previous Candidates For the UPSC 2025 cycle, the government has already provided Rs 25,000 to 659 Tamil Nadu candidates who successfully cleared the preliminary examination. Among these, 155 candidates progressed to the mains, with 87 receiving training at the All India Civil Services Training Center. The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has confirmed that those who qualify for the mains and are eligible for the final interview will receive Rs50,000 directly credited to their accounts. This financial assistance initiative is part of a broader effort by the Tamil Nadu government to empower local candidates to participate in national examinations without the added stress of financial constraints. The Naan Mudhalvan programme reflects the government's commitment to fostering talent and supporting aspiring civil servants in the state.
