It is the season for holiday gift guides — from novelty gadgets to themed presents for devoted hobbyists. They are a familiar feature at this time of year,
though few might expect to find one emerging from an unassuming office in Washington DC. That is where the Alliance for American Manufacturing, a trade advocacy and lobbying group, publishes its annual gift guide showcasing products made entirely in the United States. Unlike most seasonal round-ups, the guide features only American-made goods, ranging from cowboy hat racks produced in Wyoming to oversized stuffed animals manufactured in South Carolina. This year's list includes more than 150 companies spanning all 50 states. Also featured are Bourbon Pens, handcrafted from reclaimed bourbon barrels and customisable by engraving and distillery selection, and Alabama Sunshine, a farm-to-table hot sauce company founded in 1995 after two decades of recipe refinement.
