Russia launched one of its largest ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv since the start of the war overnight, firing dozens of missiles at the Ukrainian capital
as Ukraine intensified its long-range drone campaign against targets deep inside Russian territory. Ukraine's Air Force said Russian forces launched repeated ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv during the night. Monitoring channels reported that about 35 to 40 missiles were fired towards the capital and surrounding region, including Iskander-M, S-400 and Zircon missiles. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a multi-storey residential building was hit in the Solomianskyi district. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, falling missile debris sparked a fire in another apartment building, while fires also broke out at a shopping and entertainment centre and several vehicles in the Dniprovskyi district. A private home caught fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district, Klitschko said. Emergency services were sent to all affected locations. The latest barrage came as Ukraine stepped up drone attacks on Russian territory, targeting logistics centres and energy infrastructure in an effort to disrupt Moscow's military supply chain.

Russian officials said Ukrainian drone strikes killed nine people and injured more than 80 others across the country. One of the deadliest attacks struck warehouses belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, in the Tambov and Moscow regions.
Tambov regional Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said seven night-shift workers were killed and 25 others injured after drones hit a Wildberries warehouse in the town of Kotovsk, about 360km (220 miles) from the Ukrainian border. "Seven people working the night shift died at the scene," Pervyshov wrote on Telegram.
He added that Russian air defences had intercepted 28 drones approaching the region and claimed the number of casualties could have been much higher.
A second Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, about 50 km east of Moscow, was also hit, according to Moscow regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov.
Vorobyov said one person later died from injuries sustained in the strike. Burning debris also ignited fires at a maternity hospital and a nearby residential building, although both blazes were later extinguished.
He said 61 people were injured in attacks across the Moscow region.
Wildberries co-founder and chief executive Tatyana Kim described it as a "terrible night" for both Russia and the company, offering condolences to the victims' families.
The strikes form part of Ukraine's expanding campaign against Russian military, logistics and energy infrastructure, while Russia has continued its large-scale missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.
