Shah Rukh Khan, a name that is not only popular in India but has also made a reputation worldwide. Some call him the ‘Badshah of Bollywood,’ while others
like to refer to him as ‘King Khan’ or ‘SRK.’ Apart from being a beloved celebrity, Shah Rukh Khan is one of the richest actors in the world, the Global Ambassador of Indian Cinema, a recipient of 14 Filmfare Awards, and the co-owner of the IPL cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. You’re probably aware of all of these, but do you know where he studied? Which school nurtured the primary years of his life? Maybe not. That’s why, in this article, we’re going to shed light on the alma mater of SRK. St. Columba’s School in New Delhi shaped the most crucial and early years of Shah Rukh Khan. Set up in 1941 by the Indian Province of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, St. Columba’s is a private boys’ day school in the city. Started with just 32 students, the institution teaches over 2,900 students across junior, middle, and senior wings today. The school is widely known because of its prime location in the very heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, its long list of distinguished alumni, its dedicated staff, its exuberant present students, and its leadership in education. How Much Does It Cost? As per the fee structure, Classes 11 to 12 students have to pay a tuition fee of approximately Rs 25,200, along with additional charges. After completing his schooling from St. Columba’s School, Shah Rukh Khan enrolled for a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Interestingly, SRK even cracked IIT’s engineering entrance test to prove a point to his mother and then went on to pursue a Master’s in Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia. Apart from his academic milestones, he received a Doctorate in Arts and Culture from the University of Bedfordshire in 2009, followed by a Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Edinburgh in 2015, and a Doctorate in Philanthropy from the University of Law for his charitable work.
