Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Tuesday sent five accused in the Red Fort blast case to three days of NIA custody. The accused Shaheen, Irfan, Jasir Bilal
Wani, Adeel and Muzammil were earlier lodged in judicial custody after being arrested in December. The National Investigation Agency had sought police custody for further questioning in connection with the blast that took place near the Red Fort on November 10. The court allowed the plea and directed that the accused be produced again on January 16. The accused were identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, a doctor in Saharanpur but native of Anantnag, Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian and Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, who allegedly provided key technical support to the module. According to the central counter-terror cell, Lucknow doctor Shaheen Saeed, Saharanpur-linked doctor Adeel Ahmed Rather, and the two others “played a major role” in planning and executing the Delhi blast that killed several civilians and left many injured.
