Delhi: The Commission for Air Quality Management on Tuesday revoked the actions under Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), citing that the Delhi's
AQI has moved to "Very Poor" category today. The detailed order said, " The Sub-Committee, accordingly, decides to revoke with immediate effect, its orders dated 17.OL.2O26, for invoking actions under Stage-IV ('severe+' Category, AQI >4501 of extant schedule of GRAP." The order also noted that due to favourable meteorological conditions and increase in wind speed, the AQI of Delhi has shown some improvement and has been recorded as 378 ("Very Poor") today. Read More: Delhi Chokes Again: AQI Hits 440, Worst January in 2 Years; Dense Fog Delays Over 500 Flights The decision comes after a review meeting of the Sub-Committee on GRAP, which assessed the current air quality situation in the National Capital Region (NCR) along with weather forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM). According to officials, Stage IV measures, which fall under the ‘Severe+’ category of GRAP, have been withdrawn with immediate effect across the NCR. When Will 'Severe' AQI Improve? Check Forecast Further the order also added that forecasts the IMD and IITM suggest that the AQI is likely to remain in the "very poor" range over the next few days. Meanwhile, to ensure that AQI levels do not slip further the officials also urged citizens to strictly follow all the rules under GRAP Stage -I, II, III, citing that in winters season the weather are not always favourable. Delhi Today's AQI On Tuesday morning Delhi recorded AQI of 397, placing the national capital's air in the 'very poor' category.
