Panic and concern were quick to grip several netizens after a horrifying clip surfaced on social media. The video showed a heavy amount of ‘brown fumes’
rising from the sewer on the side of a random street. As per most netizens, ‘brown fume’ is usually a result of ‘Bromine leak’– which is exactly what triggered fear among most internet users. People were also quick to highlight that ‘Bromine leak’ is not natural, raising questions about what might be the reason behind ‘brown smoke’ right above a sewer cap. Apart from it possibly being a ‘Bromine leak’, netizens also expressed concerns over the well-being of a sanitation worker who was working near the fumes. The man was seemingly trying to open the clogged holes of the sewer cap to release the fumes faster. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. Most netizens demanded action and answers, while some expressed their worries. Many also speculated the possibility of the video being ‘AI-generated’ or being ‘fake’; however, it cannot be confirmed whether the video was tampered with.
