The Indian Stock Market has remain in a volatile state after the Iran War fallout on 28 February. Since the beginning of the Middle East conflict, investors
have lost Rs 51.7 lakh crore so far. But amid the fall, power stocks have performed in a different direction with key power stocks including Adani Power and Waaree Renewable Technologies surged 30-40%. Power stocks have been defying the concerns around a sharp spike in crude oil prices, and growing concerns that an energy shock can derail the growth momentum of the Indian economy and delay earnings recovery. On Monday's trade, key stocks including Adani Power, NTPC, PFC, BHEL, Tata Power, Hitachi Energy India, Siemens, Thermax, and Torrent Power, hit their 52-week highs in intraday trade on the BSE. Other stocks like JP Power, Adani Energy, NTPC Green, GRE Renew Enertech, Reliance Power, Adani Green, RattanIndia Power, Globus Power, KPI Green Energy, and NLC India have also jumped over 15%. Choice Broking has been bullish on the NTPC shares. "From a broader perspective, NTPC continues to trade in a higher high–higher low formation, confirming a well-established longer-term uptrend. The stock is comfortably trading above its key short- and long-term EMAs, highlighting robust trend strength," it said. Axis Securities in its report has also said that India’s electricity demand has reached 425 BU in Q4FY26, up 1.9% YoY and 8% QoQ as the transition to pre-summer heat drove peak demand to 245 GW in January. After the uptick in the crude oil prices due to the uncertainty in the US-Iran talks, shares of oil marketing companies (OMCs) showed resilience. Bharat Petroleum Corporation lose with a 1.55% decline, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited stocks also shed less than 1% each. The Indian Stock Market on Monday begin with losses amid the uncertainty over the US-Iran talks over the war leading to surge in the crude oil prices. GIFT Nifty traded higher indicating a mildly positive start for Indian markets. The indices recovered further as at 11:50 AM, the Sensex was up by 398.58 points or 0.51% at 78,892.12 while Nifty was up 67.30 points or 0.28% at 24,394.40.
