The project aims to introduce recreational boat cruises and ferry services on the River Yamuna for residents and visitors in the national capital. The government is planning to introduce water sports and other recreational activities at the cruise terminal, creating a more comprehensive leisure zone along the river.
The initiative is intended to provide Delhiites with experiences comparable to those available in popular tourist destinations such as Goa, without requiring them to travel outside the city, he said. The initiative is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.
Initially, after the launch, one boat will carry 90 people at once. Additionally, for an enhanced tourism experience, snacks will be provided to the passengers on board. The cruise will offer beautiful panoramic views of the Yamuna ghats and the landscape along the riverbanks.
The objective is to deliver an international-standard experience at affordable prices, making it accessible to a wider section of the public, he said.
