Udan Yatri Cafe to be started in all airports to provide affordable eatables to everyone. The announcement in this regard was made by Civil Aviation Minister
K Rammohan Naidu. Earlier this year in March, Naidu virtually inaugurated the Udan Yatri Cafes at 11 airports. These include Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, Jaipur International Airport, and Srinagar International Airport. Apart from these airports, Udan Yatri Cafes are already in operation in airports in major cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Pune.. At these cafes, flyers are reportedly getting tea for Rs 10, water bottle for Rs 10 and coffee for Rs 20. Among other major announcemnets, Naidu also said that the Centre will give top priority to providing international connectivity to Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport. Meanwhile, the Union Minister further informed that Jharkhand's Dumka, Hazaribag, Chaibasa, and Daltonganj will also get air connectivity. The Centre will also launch the UDAN 2 programme. India will have 100 new airports and 200 helipads in 10 years, the union minister said. (More to follow....)
