Cockroach Janta Party co-convener Saurav Das, on Sunday, launched a scathing attack at the Centre after being released from preventive arrest during the ongoing
anti-CEC protest in the country. Das, speaking to the press alongside other party members, slammed the detention and action against independent journalists during October 10 Delhi clampdown as 'Emergency Moment for Journalists' in the country. Attacking the Centre, Das said that the government of India is at the war with the journalists of India. Das allegedly claimed that right wing extremists groups in other states had been asked to come to Delhie and create chaos during the protest. Das further claimed that an atmosphere of fear is being created in this country and all this is happening to save just one man - Gyanesh Kumar. The CJP co-convener asked why is he being saved and claimed - Did he know anything about 2024 Varanasi Lok Sabha election? Did Gyanesh Kumar know how elections were conduced in other BJP-led states. The nation is standing before a very big problem today.
Saurav Das on Detention
Questioning cops action to detain CJP leaders, Das said that the Delhi Police forcefully entered airplane and "kidnapped" them. He said the cops did not give them formal detention notice, their phones were seized, and weren't allowed to contact lawyer.
He claimed that an atmosphere of fear has been created in this country adding it's clearly being done to save just one person - Gyanesh Kumar.
"We want to ask Modi and Shah, why are you trying to save Gyanesh Kumar," Das asked.
Das Claims Their Phones Have Been Hacked
In another allegation, Saurav Das said, "They seized our phones but did not provide a seizure memo... We suspect our phones were hacked or cloned. Just as has happened to other activists over the years, we fear they may have hacked into our devices to plant documents or other material to be presented later as evidence... We want to state here that our phones have likely been compromised..."
"There is a situation resembling an open emergency across the country. Such conditions were last witnessed in 1975 under a dictatorial regime...," Das said.
