A conference center in Davos is being evacuated, according to an NRK reporter at the scene, with smoke divers dispatched to the location. The incident
is unfolding as the World Economic Forum holds its annual meeting, bringing political and business leaders from around the world to the Swiss city this week. Tense moments unfolded during a live broadcast by Italian journalist Lilli Gruber on La7TV, with initial reports indicating she was evacuated from the studio. La7 also reported a fire at a nearby hotel, with a reporter saying, “There are helicopters flying overhead, it’s full of firefighters, and there’s an evacuation emergency underway.” The reason for the evacuation has not yet been disclosed. Fox News reporter Edward Lawrence confirmed that evacuations have taken place and shared video from the scene showing emergency personnel at work. Lawrence said crews are trying to determine the source of a smell that has caused some people in the area to begin coughing.

The evacuation came just hours after US President Trump delivered his highly anticipated address at the conference. During the speech, Trump said he had ruled out using military force to acquire Greenland, the Danish territory he has expressed interest in obtaining for U.S. national security reasons.
