What is the story about?
Lucknow: An IndiGo flight failed to lift off and had to abort takeoff mid-runway at Lucknow airport. The flight was bound for Delhi. The plane with 151
passengers onboard, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Dimple Yadav, are all safe. According to reports, the Captain of the flight sensed something was wrong with the flight as it couldn't take off and aborted the take off. The incident took place on Saturday around 11 AM as the plane failed to gain the lift when it was nearing the end of the runway. The Captain, acting swiftly, applied the emergency brakes to full throttle, stopping the flight before a possible runway overshoot. Fortunately, all 151 passengers onboard were evacuated unhurt.
The incidents reminds us of the Ahmedabad-London Air India flight which crashed with 242 passengers onboard this year on June 12 after it failed to gain the lift and altitude after take off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport in Ahmedabad. More than 260 people had died in the tragic crash including those who were present inside a medical college hostel on which the plane crashed.
