The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) results for the December
session on February 4, 2026. Once released, candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check their qualifying status and download scorecards through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, using their login credentials: application number and password. According to the official schedule, UGC NET 2025 was held between December 31 and February 7, 2026 (excluding several days) for 85 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode at different cities across the country. NTA issued the provisional answer keys on January 14, and candidates had until January 17 to submit challenges. After thorough assessment of candidates' objections, NTA will publish the final answer key for UGC NET 2025 along with results. "The result will be compiled based on the final answer key declared. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after the declaration of the result/NTA Score of UGC-NET December 2025 will be entertained," the information bulletin reads. - Visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- On the homepage, click on the scorecard link available.
- Enter the application number, password, and security PIN.
- Click on the submit button.
- The UGC NET Result 2025 PDF will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and save it for future reference.
"The result of UGC-NET December 2025 of the candidate(s) who indulges in Unfair means Practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the Centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate/person to write the exam on his/her behalf will be cancelled. No plea will be entertained in this regard," the official bulletin states.
What's Next?
After the declaration of the UGC NET Result 2025, candidates who clear the Assistant Professor cut-off can apply for teaching positions in universities, colleges, and other institutes, whereas those who qualify for JRF become eligible for fellowship programs and can pursue research (PhD or research projects) at recognised institutions.
