What is the story about?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the result release date for the The University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December
2025. "The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the UGC-NET December 2025 examination from December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026. The result is expected to be released tentatively by February 4, 2026," NTA stated in an official tweet on 'X'. Once released, the scorecards will be available at the official UGC website, i.e. ugcnet.nta.nic.in, or at the NTA website, i.e. nta.ac.in. This announcement comes a few weeks after the UGC NET provisional answer key was released on January 14, and the objection window against the answer key concluded on January 17, 2026.
UGC NET December Result 2025: Steps to check final scores
Step 1: Visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for the scorecard link available.
Step 3: Enter the application number and password.
Step 4: The UGC NET Result December 2025 PDF will be displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Download and save it for future reference.
To be considered qualified, candidates belonging to the General (Unreserved) / General-EWS category must have appeared in both papers and secured at least 40 per cent aggregate marks together. Whereas, those belonging to the reserved categories (viz., SC, ST, OBC (belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer), PwD/PwBD, and third gender) have to obtain at least 35 per cent aggregate marks in both papers taken together.
Candidates should remember that there will not be any provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the result. 'No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.,' NTA stated in the official Information Bulletin released earlier.
