The Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is inviting applications for the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme,
CSSS 2025. Eligible students can get themselves registered through the National Scholarship Portal—scholarships.gov.in. Registration is underway, and the deadline to apply is October 31, 2025. The scholarship is open to meritorious students who rank within the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations. It is to be noted that the percentile list, along with detailed eligibility guidelines, has already been released on the Board’s official website. A 5% reservation in each category has been earmarked for students with disabilities. It is to ensure inclusive access to the scheme. Eligibility Criteria The scholarship has been specially designed for students who passed the Senior Secondary Examination 2025 under the Rajasthan Board in science, commerce, or humanities streams. The students should currently be pursuing regular undergraduate studies at a recognized college or university. The press release reads, “Applying does not guarantee selection; the final list will be prepared as per the eligibility rules framed by the Ministry of Education." The Ministry has also opened the renewal window for students who were awarded scholarships in previous years. The renewals will be processed as follows:
- 2024 batch – First renewal
- 2023 batch – Second renewal
- 2022 batch – Third renewal
- 2021 batch – Fourth renewal
To continue receiving the scholarship, renewal applicants must fulfill these conditions
- Secure a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade each academic year.
- Maintain a cumulative 50% average across both semesters, wherever applicable.
- Record at least 75% attendance in the academic session.
- Exhibit good conduct, with strict compliance to the anti-ragging code of discipline.
