The Chakradharpur (CKP) division of South Eastern Railway is set to operate a special train between Rourkela and Tatanagar on June 21, 2026, to assist
candidates reappearing for India’s largest medical entrance test, an official said. According to a statement released by the PRO-cum-Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (CKP division), the special train number 68044 will depart from Rourkela at 05:10 hours on June 21 and arrive at Tatanagar station at 09:20 hours. The decision has been taken by the CKP division of S E Railway, keeping aspirants’ convenience in mind. This move will ensure the timely arrival of candidates at their test centres. The special train will stop at all stations and halts between Rourkela and Tatanagar to allow anyone between these stations to board, according to a news agency PTI. Mumbai Railways Halt Scheduled Maintenance Blocks on Exam Day for Students’ Convenience Meanwhile, Mumbai has decided to keep the suburban railway network running on June 21 without any usual Sunday maintenance blocks. This move has offered immediate relief to candidates travelling to exam centres across the city and neighbouring regions. To facilitate the smooth travel of Re-NEET candidates, both Central Railway and Western Railway have decided to suspend their routine mega and jumbo blocks, which are generally carried out on Sundays for maintenance. Moreover, several state governments have extended support to medical aspirants by announcing free bus travel, clean drinking water, cooling zones, and sattu. These measures will help students conveniently reach their examination centres amid the scorching heat. Re-NEET 2026 is scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026. The Centre has adopted stringent measures, including a two-tier CRPF+CISF escort with an IAF airlift, a four-layer CCTV system with AI surveillance, biometric and facial recognition before entry, multiple layers of frisking, and multi-level oversight with direct monitoring from the Prime Minister’s Office to ensure security against leaks.
