Mondelez India, the manufacturer of Cadbury chocolate withdraws 'misleading' health and nutrients claims from products after FSSAI notice. Food Safety
and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said the major Food Business Operators (FBOs) have taken prompt corrective action following notices issued by the authority. Measures include withdrawing misleading label claims and revising product packaging to ensure consumer safety and regulatory compliance. In case of Mondelez India Foods Private Limited, the violations observed by the FSSAI were misleading health claims, and nutrient comparative claims. As per the corrective action taken, the FBO has withdrawn the claims and advertisement from e-commerce platforms and ensured compliance, FSSAI said in a post on X. FSSAI has recently issued over 150 notices to food companies in recent months over concerns including misleading advertisements, false claims and violations of labelling rules. These include household names such as Nestle India, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola India, along with Red Bull India, Mondelez India, Danone India, Ferrero India, Monster Energy India, Abbott India, Diageo, Pernod Ricard and others.
