A serious traffic incident unfolded Monday evening in Nunspeet, Netherlands, after a car drove into a group of people on Elburgerweg, leaving at least
9 people injured. Police described the incident on X as a “serious accident,” as emergency services rushed to the scene. Regional broadcaster Omroep Gelderland and RTL Nieuws reported that the car drove into people during a light parade taking place in the area. A large emergency response was launched, with three trauma helicopters and multiple ambulances dispatched. Images from the scene showed numerous emergency vehicles lining the street. In an update on X, the police confirmed that 9 people have been injured, with 3 sustaining serious injuries. The police also reported that "for now, there does not appear to be any intent involved." However, the investigation is ongoing. The condition of the injured remains unknown, and authorities have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made. Following the accident, organizers of the annual light parade announced on Facebook that the event would no longer continue through Nunspeet due to the incident.
