Mumbai: A controversy has erupted at a Borivali school after parents alleged that the school principal made inappropriate remarks when questioned about
a steep fee hike. The issue came to light after parents confronted the school management over a reported 48% increase in fees. According to parents, during an orientation meeting, a father objected to the hike and asked why the fees had been raised. In response, the principal allegedly asked him to “send your wife to me, and you focus on earning money”. The remark triggered widespread anger among parents, who described it as disrespectful and unacceptable. A video shared by the NCMIndia Council For Men Affairs on X (formerly Twitter) shows visibly upset parents accusing the school management of making inappropriate comments. In the video, a woman parent explains that the remarks were made in the presence of staff and other parents. Another parent is also heard alleging that the fee hike was unjustified.

Taking note of the complaints, Borivali MLA Sanjay Upadhyay wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, raising concerns about alleged financial irregularities and unauthorised fee hikes by the school. Following this, the Education Department responded on December 19, 2025, with an official communication and supporting documents.
In a post on X, the MLA said that the Maharashtra government’s Education Department has constituted a strong and comprehensive inquiry committee to conduct inquiry. “This fight will continue relentlessly for public trust and the future of students, and it will go on until justice is delivered to parents and students,” he said.
However, the school management has not issued an official statement so far.
