New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday directed the Delhi Police to provide complete protection to a woman who alleged that she was threatened after
her morphed and objectionable photographs were circulated in connection with a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar. Justice Girish also directed that the woman’s residential address be kept confidential and shared only with the police officials concerned for ensuring her safety. The court further directed Meta to remove the allegedly objectionable posts from its social media platforms within 24 hours after receiving the relevant web links from the investigating agency. The court issued notices to CJP members Saurav Das, Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh in connection with the woman’s plea.

"This is extraordinary position in which the matter is not of one lady; it is a matter about the Prime Minister of the country. I will make sure that the Delhi Police is sensitive," the court said.
The development comes a day after Delhi Police registered an FIR at the New Delhi Cyber Police Station following a complaint by the woman alleging threats, harassment and molestation during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.
In her complaint, the woman named CJP protest organisers and functionaries Saurabh Das, Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh, along with their alleged accomplices.
The woman alleged that some men threatened her and outraged her modesty during the protest.
She further alleged that her photograph was taken without her permission and later digitally manipulated using AI and face-swapping tools. According to her complaint, her face was morphed onto an image showing her alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The matter is now before the Delhi High Court, while the police investigation is underway.
