Indians and their ‘lack of civic sense’ and problematic ‘public behaviour’ are back on the dock, after a rather ‘embarrassing’ video began to do the rounds
on social media. The clip showed several Indian tourists loudly chanting ‘Jai Maharashtra’ and other slogans in Paris, which hardly sat well with netizens. Most dubbed it a result of “lack of lessons on proper public behaviour”. What further triggered people was the fact that all of this sloganeering was happening while the crowd was posing with a street performer, who clearly looked uncomfortable the entire time. In the clip, the performer- a mime artist- was also seen gesturing to the crowd to stop the slogans, yet the tourists continued. By the looks of it, the incident seemingly happened near Montmartre in Paris. This is not the first time that a certain type of behaviour by fellow Indians in a foreign land left the rest of the Indians online ‘embarrassed’ and even fuming. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. "A video from Paris shows Indian tourists with a street performer- A man takes a photo with a mime artist and starts chanting loudly. The performer quietly asks them to be quieter, but the man keeps chanting with full energy. Other people in his group join in too," the post read. The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Delhiite_’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 356K views from people. Internet's reactions: “Then we say why our passport rank is falling, there should be some serious check for the tourist travelling abroad,” a user said. “He's telling them to be Quiet,” commented the next person in the comment section. (No, we don't because we have common sense) 2) What is the fun that people will get when they chant in front of other religious places? 3) Are they following what they are preaching- other than hurting others?” added the next.
