Walmart is urgently recalling a popular seasoning product nationwide due to possible salmonella contamination that could cause serious or even fatal infections.
Blackstone Products of Providence, Utah, is voluntarily recalling three specific lots of its Parmesan Ranch seasoning (7.3-ounce bottles), according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).“Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” the FDA warned in its alert. Healthy individuals infected with salmonella may experience fever, nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and abdominal pain. - Lot 2025-43282 (Best by: July 2, 2027)
- Lot 2025-46172 (Best by: Aug. 5, 2027)

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the seasoning so far.
Cause of the Recall
The contamination is linked to a broader recall of dry milk powder by California Dairies, Inc. The milk powder, which may contain salmonella, was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used as an ingredient in the Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning.
What Consumers Should Do
The FDA advises customers who purchased the recalled seasoning to immediately stop using it and throw it away.
