A major milestone has been achieved by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), making it the first such board in India to have received ISO certifications
for the effective announcement of results for Classes 10 and 12. This happened in the wake of various transformations that have made it a role model in terms of efficiency and transparency. BSEB Receives ISO Certifications for Excellence It is pertinent to note that the BSEB has received three major ISO certifications in the areas of Management of Quality Systems (QMS), Management of Information Security Systems (ISMS), and Management of Record Systems (RMS). These certifications were received after a rigorous assessment of the activities of the BSEB, including its efforts aimed at the digitalisation of examination records and improvement of the examination process. Recognition for Examination Reforms by ISO A statement issued by the BSEB confirmed that the recognition in the form of ISO certification is for the efforts of the board in making its examination systems reliable and efficient. This is for the efforts of the board in making the procedure of recognition of schools, along with conducting exams, more transparent through the Bihar School Examination Board Act. Bihar Board Builds Data Centre with 200 TB Capacity These ISO certifications were given to Anand Kishore, the Chairman of BSEB, who is proud of this accomplishment of the board. This came after the board received the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration for its innovative work in the examination system. Technology Developments by BSEB During the past few years, the BSEB has invested heavily in various technological advancements such as the digitalisation of data for Classes 10 and 12 from the year 1983 to 2025. This is one of the major steps that has brought more efficiency into the board’s processes. Furthermore, it has adopted a paperless system that ensures the security of information. Construction of State-of-the-Art Data Centre To add to the efficiency of its services, BSEB has developed a data centre with a storage capacity of 200 TB, which would securely store student data as well as computerised applications. Using such advancements, BSEB is setting a new benchmark for the administration of education by ensuring more transparency, security, and efficiency for students. In addition, the board is using the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS), which allows students to register for their intermediate classes online.
