Washington DC: As the conflict in the Middle East entered day 13, US intelligence indicated that Iran's leadership is not on the verge of collapse even
after 12 days of the US-Israel strikes, reported Reuters, citing sources. It was claimed that the Islamic regime still has control over Iranian people. The intelligence report also revealed that the ruling dispensation in Iran is "not in danger," a source told the news agency. The intelligence report was completed within the last few days. Amid the building pressure over rising oil prices globally, the US President on Wednesday hinted that the US could end its military operation against Iran soon. However, Iran is not ready to back out, as Iran's hardline leaders warned the US and Israel of expanding the scope of the war by targeting offices of tech giants. Meanwhile, a senior Israeli official told Reuters that in closed discussions it was acknowledged that there is no clarity when the war will end. What Trump Said 'Nothing Left In Iran': On Wednesday, Trump hinted that the US military operation in Iran could end soon, as there is “nothing left” in the country. Trump made these remarks during a brief telephonic interview with Axios. “Little this and that... Any time I want it to end, it will end,” Trump added.
Last week, the news agency also reported that Iranian Kurdish militias based in Iraq even consulted with the United States on how they could target Iran's security forces. The head of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan, Abdullah Mohtadi, had said on Wednesday that parties of the coalition are active in Iran and "tens of thousands" of people could take up arms against the Islamic regime in Iran. Notably, Komala Party is part of a six-party coalition of Iranian Kurdish parties.
Mohtadi even claimed that inside Iranian Kurdistan, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) units and other security forces abandoned their bases. However, recent US intelligence reports doubted the firepower of the Kurdish groups.
The conflict in the Middle East started on February 28 after the US and Israel carried out airstrikes against Iran, killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several of its top officials. In retaliation, Iran also launched attacks on Israel and US military bases and oil facilities in the Gulf nations.
