Mumbai Airport News: As heavy rainfall continues to impact the city and traffic snarls disrupt daily life, air services too have been affected on Monday.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) issued an advisory urging passengers to check flight status before travelling and to leave earlier than usual to avoid traffic congestion. IndiGo and Akasa Air also shared updates on their flight operations.

The CSMIA has issued a passenger advisory given the heavy to very heavy rainfall lashing Mumbai. Travellers have been urged to connect with their respective airlines and check flight status before leaving for the airport. The advisory also requested passengers to plan their journey in advance and leave earlier than usual to avoid traffic congestion caused by severe waterlogging across the city. The airport stressed that passenger safety remains its utmost priority.

IndiGo Advisory
IndiGo, in its passenger update, said waterlogging had been reported on key airport routes, which could lead to delays.“If you are travelling to the airport, we encourage you to plan ahead and check your flight status on our app and website before stepping out,” it said, adding that its teams were working to support customers in every way.

Akasa Air also issued a similar travel advisory, warning of traffic congestion on routes to airports in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa, and Pune.“To ensure a seamless travel experience, we request you to plan for additional travel time to reach the airport well in time for your flight. Please check your flight status,” the airline said in its X post.

Heavy rainfall since Saturday has left several parts of Mumbai waterlogged, including Gandhi Market, Kings Circle, Malad Subway and the SCLR Bridge. The Western Expressway near Vile Parle also witnessed long traffic snarls. Air services were disrupted, with at least 15 go-arounds and 2 diversions recorded.
Neighbouring districts including Thane, Raigad and Palghar are also on alert. The IMD has warned that rainfall activity may persist across Maharashtra until 21 August.
