A late-night dinner outing to Murthal turned deadly for three Delhi friends. The three men were killed in a road accident on the Libaspur flyover in Outer
North Delhi while they were returning after having dinner at Murthal, the police said, according to PTI. The three men were identified as Sumit (27), who was soon going to be married and was the main breadwinner of his family, 26-year-old Mohit, and his cousin Anurag (23). Sumit's family was devastated and shocked after they got a call from a stranger in the early hours of Wednesday. His uncle told PTI that they were woken up by a call from a stranger on Wednesday. They were informed that Sumit was lying in a pool of blood along with his two friends near a damaged Royal Enfield (Bullet) motorcycle at the Libaspur flyover.
'No helmets'
The three friends used to go out together, and this time, as they were returning from Murthal, their motorcycle rammed into an unmarked Jersey barrier, the police said, according to PTI.
"All three died on the spot. They were not wearing helmets," said a police officer.
Here's what victim's uncle said
Sumit's uncle, Ankit Sharma, said that for a second, his parents thought it was a bad dream, but soon they realised it was not. "Little did we know that he would leave us so soon," his uncle said in a choked voice, PTI reported.
He said that the three men had been friends for a long time and had gone to Murthal for dinner at around 10 PM on Tuesday. "They were very close to each other and used to go out together," he added.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victims were returning from Haryana's Murthal when their speeding motorcycle hit a concrete Jersey barrier placed on the flyover. None of them was wearing a helmet, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami said in a statement.
The DCP added that a case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Moreover, the police are investigating further to find out whether the absence of reflectors or warning signs on the Jersey barrier contributed to their death.
