Bengaluru Power Cut: Several neighbourhoods in west and north-west Bengaluru are set to face a day-long power outage on Friday, December 26, as the city’s
electricity utility carries out emergency maintenance work. The planned shutdown will affect residential layouts, apartment complexes and surrounding areas for nearly seven hours, BESCOM has announced.
Bengaluru Power Cut From 10 AM to 5 PM
According to the Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), electricity supply will be disrupted from 10 am to 5 pm on December 26. The outage is linked to emergency and quarterly maintenance work being undertaken by KPTCL at the 66/11 kV Chandra Layout Station.Officials said the shutdown is necessary to ensure network safety and reliability, and power will be restored once the maintenance work is completed.
Why the Outage Is Being Carried Out
BESCOM said the interruption is unavoidable as KPTCL engineers carry out essential maintenance at the substation feeding these localities. Power supply is expected to resume progressively after 5 pm, subject to completion of the maintenance work. Residents can follow official BESCOM handles for real-time updates if there are any changes to the schedule.
