It’s hardly ever a dull moment when it comes to nature showing its ‘true nature’- basically, too much for us to handle! Be it mother nature being so beautiful
that it leaves people overwhelmed, or be it everything being so terrifying, that it leaves the world anxiously horrified– nature can truly be something else entirely. People in the US’ South Carolina and netizens on the internet were reminded of the same, as the Mount Pleasant Police Department in Mount Pleasant shared a rather frightening video on social media. The clip showed a lightning strike so ‘insane’ that netizens began to raise speculation over the possibility of it being ‘AI-generated’. The strike had hit an electric pole, which resulted in a mushroom explosion! As per the post, the incident was recorded on a car dash camera of an officer at around ‘11 AM at the intersection of Hwy 17 & Shelmore Blvd’ on Monday, August 11. Not only did it just look scary, but the incident also led to the power going down– resulting in delayed traffic. As per the official handle of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, a ‘dozen officers and CSOs managed traffic at seven intersections for roughly three hours’ after the lightning strike. Reportedly, no one was injured. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post. “A bit too much excitement for a Monday! The lightning strike caused our power outages and traffic delays. Fortunately, no one was injured, and @DominionEnergy responded quickly, restoring power and removing the downed wires,” the post read. “This was caught on an officer’s dash cam around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 17 & Shelmore Blvd, bringing down wires across the roadway and causing widespread power outages.
