The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has once again pushed back the restoration of its digital services, extending the ongoing shutdown of key
online facilities by another day. As per the latest update published on the EPFO portal, member and employer services will remain unavailable until 11:59 pm on July 1, with operations expected to resume from 00:00 hrs on July 2, 2026. The temporary disruption is part of a large-scale technology overhaul that involves database consolidation and upgrades to the organisation's claims processing system. EPFO says the exercise is aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening platform security and delivering a smoother experience for users in the future. The retirement fund body had originally scheduled the suspension of online services until June 28, with a planned restart on June 29. However, the maintenance window was subsequently extended to June 30 and then further to July 1. The latest announcement means subscribers, employers and establishments that depend on EPFO's online platform will have to wait until July 2 before normal services become available again. The prolonged maintenance exercise is among the most extensive planned outages undertaken by EPFO in recent years and has impacted millions of users across the country. Members And Employers Unable To Access Key Services Because of the ongoing upgrade, both the Member Interface and Employer Interface remain inaccessible. This has temporarily halted a range of digital services that users typically rely on for provident fund-related activities. Among the services currently unavailable are:
- Online claim submission
- Passbook downloads
- Claim status tracking
- PF transfer requests
- Updates to profile and personal information
- Other digital services offered through the Member Portal and UMANG app
Employers are also facing restrictions, as routine compliance-related and administrative functions available through the Employer Interface remain suspended during the maintenance period.
Services Expected To Resume From July 2
Subscribers who have been waiting to file claims, download passbooks, check claim status or complete other provident fund-related tasks online will be able to do so once the upgraded platform goes live.
Based on the latest schedule shared by EPFO, all affected online services are expected to be restored from 00:00 hrs on July 2, 2026. Until then, users will continue to face limited access to the organisation's digital infrastructure as the upgrade process reaches its final stage.
