What is the story about?
‘Will I receive my refund now?’ is the concern of many who forgot to resubmit their bank account information before accessing their Re-NEET admit cards.
Introduced in ‘public interest’, the details verification option by the National Testing Agency (NTA) has triggered public backlash, with many labelling the agency’s move as ‘misleading’ and ‘a scam’. “NTA's NEET refund verification is a trap. If you choose not to edit your bank details just to get your admit card, it says you have ‘agreed not to provide details for refund.’ Why create such a misleading option in the first place?” one X user tweeted.
“NTA has deliberately blocked the Re-NEET admit card download link behind a mandatory bank account re-verification portal. If you don't carefully resubmit your details or if the site glitches out, you risk messing up your refund entirely,” another one alleged.
The issue arose as a plethora of medical aspirants skipped the edit and resubmission option for their respective bank account details, as they had already filled in the required information when the testing agency opened the refund portal. Defending its move, NTA put out a tweet on Sunday (June 14), saying, “The functionality of verifying your Bank Account details for refund, after login with 2-factor authentication, is in the interest of students only.”
The board has also informed that around 4 lakh students have downloaded their admit cards as of June 15, 2026, 8:59 AM.
Additionally, the applicants are facing difficulty in accessing their Re-NEET admit cards 2026. Some are reporting the invalid credentials issue, while others maintain that the site remains ‘unavailable’, despite multiple attempts to access.
Assuring the candidates, the agency writes on X, “We are aware that some of you are facing technical glitches or server issues in accessing your admit cards. Our teams have been working towards resolving all these issues. We are there for you and will ensure that very soon, all candidates get their admit cards.”
