Leading e-commerce and quick commerce majors have decided to come together to form the 'Digital Commerce Coalition'. This will be an industry-led body
that will aim to boost the unified presence and sustainable growth of the digitial commerce ecosystem altogether. The coalition’s founding members at the moment include Eternal, Meesho, Amazon, Swiggy and Zepto. Koan Advisory Group, a New Delhi-based public policy consulting firm, will serve as the secretariat for the Digital Commerce Coalition, supporting its engagement, research, and convening activities. Dr Jaskiran Bedi, Head - Public Policy, Eternal said, “digital commerce is making everyday consumption more convenient while also enabling new avenues of livelihood and entrepreneurship for millions. We believe the coalition creates a strong case for collaboration across industry, and we look forward to contributing meaningfully to its shared vision.” Prachi Bhuchar, Head of Public Policy at Meesho, said, “at Meesho, we have seen firsthand how digital commerce can unlock entrepreneurship and economic opportunity at scale, particularly across small businesses and underserved markets. As e-commerce adoption deepens across Bharat, collaborative industry initiatives can help shape inclusive growth.” Rachit Ranjan, Chief Policy Officer, Zepto said, “India’s digital commerce sector is at an inflection point. The choices the industry makes now will shape how MSMEs access markets, how supply chains become more resilient, and how consumer trust is protected. The Digital Commerce Coalition is important because no single company can solve for these key priorities alone.” India’s digital commerce sector is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological advancements, the emergence of new business models, expanding digital adoption across tier 2 and tier 3 markets, and growing participation from businesses of all sizes. The Digital Commerce Coalition will serve as a forum for stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, and knowledge sharing, to help ensure growth remains responsible and future-ready. The spotlight will be on what all this coalition manages to achieve and to what extent.
