After five consecutive sessions of losses, the Sensex surged 654.73 points (0.82%) to 85,329.81, while the broader Nifty gained 212.75 points (0.82%) to 26,151.60 by early afternoon at around 1:35 pm. Market breadth was healthy, with approximately 2,455 shares advancing, 1,009 declining, and 170 unchanged.
