The price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been increased by Rs 49, with the revised rates coming into effect from today, February 1. After the hike, the retail price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹1,740.50. The revision is part of the monthly price review carried out by oil marketing companies.While commercial users face higher costs, domestic consumers have been spared. The price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged in Delhi.
Union Budget 2026
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2026 today, February 1, marking a significant moment in India’s fiscal calendar. This will be her ninth consecutive Budget speech under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making her one of the longest-serving finance ministers to present multiple Union Budgets in succession.
The Budget this year is also notable for being presented on a Sunday, a rare occurrence in India’s fiscal history. The only previous instance dates back to February 28, 1999, when then Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha presented the Union Budget during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.
Meanwhile, the Economic Survey 2026, tabled on Thursday, has projected India’s economy to grow at 7.4 per cent in FY26 and between 6.8 and 7.2 per cent in FY27. The growth outlook is backed by regulatory reforms, a stable macroeconomic foundation, and renewed emphasis on private sector investment.
