A Monmouth University poll data shows that Americans still prefer simple and familiar cookies during Christmas. Frosted sugar cookies rank as the most popular holiday cookie in the US, chosen by about one-third of people who name a favourite. Gingerbread cookies follow closely, especially during December, driven by strong seasonal demand and traditions linked to decorations and school activities.
Chocolate chip cookies stay popular during Christmas in the US. Snickerdoodles and peanut butter cookies also remain top choices every year. People like them as are easy to make and common at family events, office gift swaps, and holiday parties.

Types Of Christmas Cookies In US

A study by personal finance website FinanceBuzz looked at how much prices have risen since 2020. The research team calculated the cost of making a batch of frosted sugar cookies, adding a glass of milk, and a pound of carrots for Santa’s nine reindeer.

The team used a popular sugar cookie recipe from Allrecipes and applied Consumer Price Index data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics to track ingredient costs such as butter, sugar, and flour.
The findings show that in 2024, it costs about $8.44 to leave out the traditional Christmas snack.
