New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha on Friday witnessed a rare and heartwarming moment when Union Minister JP Nadda was seen assisting Leader of Opposition (LoP)
Mallikarjun Kharge on the stairs of the Upper House. A video of the incident also surfaced online. The heartwarming visuals show mutual respect and camaraderie between leaders of parties having different ideologies. Notably, Parliament is a place often defined by sharp political exchanges and ideological differences. The video stood out as it highlights a simple gesture showing humanity comes first over politics and party lines. The visual show Nadda rose from his seat and came forward, while 83-year-old Kharge walked slowly to get down from the stairs. When the union minister realised Kharge needed support, he stopped and took the Congress President's hand and assisted him in getting down from the stairs.

Both leaders approached Rajya Sabha MP Harivansh, who was re-elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha for the third consecutive time.
PM Modi, Nadda And Kharge Welcomes Harivansh:
Notably, Nadda moved the passage for the re-election of Harivansh as Deputy Chairman. The vote was passed by a voice vote in the Upper House.
"I declare that Shriman Harivansh has been chosen as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha," said Vice President and RS Chairman CP Radhakrishnan. Welcoming Harivansh into the Rajya Sabha for a third term as Deputy Chairman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along along with Nadda, and Kharge was escorted around the dias and back to his seat as per tradition.

"I would like to congratulate you for the work you have done here. I am getting another chance to sit with you in the House. You are a good (seat) neighbour," Kharge said, getting chuckles from the opposition benches.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicitated Harivansh back to the RS, remembering his contributions to the house and also invoking his close connection to former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar.
PM Modi-Kharge Shares Light-hearted Moet:
PM Modi and the Congress President on Tuesday (April 14) shared a light-hearted interaction in Parliament complex. The incident took place while attending a tribute ceremony for BR Ambedkar. The rare moment was caught on camera, and the video of the interaction between the two leaders also surfaced online.
In the video shared by news agency ANI, the Prime Minister and Kharge were seen greeting each other and smiling during the brief interaction. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju, and other leaders were also present at the spot. After greeting Birla and Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, PM Modi approached the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Rajya Sabha, and both leaders then shook hands. They were also seen laughing together.
