New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka on Monday met Union Minister JP Nadda at his residence and submitted
a letter outlining their key demands. Das, in an X post, also claimed that Nadda assured them that he would hold an internal discussion on the matter. Sharing an update on X, Das claimed that the two leaders had to wait for nearly two hours before they were granted a 10-minute meeting with the union minister. As per Das, there are also reports of mass detentions during the satirical party's 'Sansad Chalo' protest march to Parliament. "#UPDATE: After waiting for more than 2 hours, @AshutoshRanka and I just met J.P. Nadda ji at his residence for 10 minutes. While we submit a written letter with our demands, he has assured us that he will meanwhile speak internally. We are in that process. There is news of mass detention etc," Das stated in the X post.
Divulging further details, Ranka said that Nadda has requested some time to talk about CJP's demands to his party leadership. These three demands are -
- Immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk
- Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation
- Rs 1 crore compensation for all NEET aspirants who committed suicide
Ranka also urged the Delhi Police to immediately stop the use of what he described as "brute force" against peaceful protesters participating in the march.

Earlier in the day, the CJP made a big claim regarding discussions with the government. Das, in his earlier X post, had announced that he and Ranka would meet the union minister amid the ongoing protest by the CJP.
"It’s 11:52 AM. Ashutosh Ranka and I, on behalf of the Cockroach Janta Party, are on our way to meet J.P. Nadda. The government had reached out for talks in the morning. Our demands are clear. The youth has gathered in huge numbers," Das said in an X post. However, government sources had denied these claims.
CJP Protest Turns Violent:
During the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' protest march, protesters reportedly clashed with security personnel and were lathicharged as they tried to charge towards barricades. Some of them were detained. Amongst the detainees was also Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav, the wife of Akhilesh Yadav. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 BNSS (formerly Section 144 CrPC) are currently in effect in New Delhi district. The protesters reported reaching Rail Bhawan near Parliament.As the CJP protest escalated outside Parliament. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradha met Union Home Minister Amit Sha in Parliament.
The CHP, the satirical party formed days after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's remarks allegedly comparing unemployed youth to cockroaches, is staging protests demanding Pradhan's resignation over the NERT UF 2026 paper leak. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest and started a hunger strike on June 28. He was removed from the protest site at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and shifted to Safdarjung Hospital as authorities claimed that his health had deteriorated.
