Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor-producer Anushka Sharma have now added another significant chapter to that story with the purchase of over five acres of land in Alibaug. The coastal town that once belonged to weekend ferry crowds and quiet fishing villages has, in recent years, become a magnet for Mumbai’s elite seeking space, silence and a slower rhythm of life. The newly acquired land sits in Zirad village in Raigad district and spans a combined area of over 5.19 acres across two adjoining plots. One parcel measures roughly 3.6 acres, while the second covers about 1.55 acres. According to registration documents accessed through CRE Matrix, a real estate data analytics platform, the total consideration for the transaction stands at Rs 37.86 crore. The deal was registered earlier this week with stamp duty payments of approximately Rs 2.27 crore. What makes this purchase especially interesting is that it is not the couple’s first brush with Alibaug. In 2022, Virat and Anushka had already acquired an eight-acre land parcel in the same coastal belt with plans to build a farmhouse.
A power couple with a formidable fortune
The couple are not just icons in sport and cinema. They are also among India’s wealthiest celebrity couples. Having recently marked their seventh wedding anniversary, the duo reportedly commands a combined net worth of about Rs 13,000 crore, according to The Times of India and publicly available data.
Kohli’s income streams extend well beyond the cricket field. His earnings come from match fees, lucrative brand endorsements and a growing portfolio of business ventures. His annual earnings reportedly exceed Rs 100 crore, which includes Rs 7 crore from his current BCCI contract and Rs 21 crore from Royal Challengers Bengaluru for IPL 2025.
Anushka Sharma, meanwhile, has built a formidable identity beyond acting. Her estimated net worth stands at around Rs 255 crore. Apart from film fees, which range between Rs 8 crore and Rs 12 crore per project, she earns through endorsements and entrepreneurial ventures, including production house Clean Slate Filmz and clothing label Nush.

The couple’s primary base in Mumbai is a sprawling apartment in Worli. In 2017, they moved into an expansive 8000-square-foot home at Omkar 1973, one of the city’s most premium residential towers. The four-bedroom apartment sits on the 35th floor and comes with four dedicated parking slots and sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. Each bedroom features a private deck, a rare luxury in Mumbai high-rises. According to ZEE News, the apartment was purchased for Rs 34 crore.
The Alibaug holiday home rooted in calm
Away from the city skyline, the couple also owns a beautifully designed holiday bungalow in Alibaug. Built in a Californian Konkan style, the four-bedroom home stands on a 10,000-square-foot plot within the exclusive Awas Living gated community. The property includes access to a wellness centre and spa, reflecting the couple’s well-known focus on mindful living.
Speaking to Architectural Digest India, Kohli once shared how deeply he values family meals and togetherness, sentiments that seem to echo in the design of this serene retreat. The holiday home is valued at around Rs 13 crore, according to The Financial Express.
A statement bungalow in Gurugram
In North India, the couple owns a grand bungalow in DLF Phase 1 in Gurugram. Spread across approximately 10,000 square feet, the residence features a private swimming pool and an opulent bar area designed for hosting. The drawing room is known for its curated art collection, lending the space an understated but unmistakable luxury.
The property is estimated to be worth Rs 80 crore, making it one of the most valuable assets in their portfolio.
Earlier investments in Mumbai real estate
Anushka Sharma’s foray into property investment began early in her career. In 2012, at the age of just 23, she reportedly invested in three flats on the 20th floor of Badrinath Towers in Versova. The combined area of these apartments was around 6000 square feet, and they were collectively valued at about Rs 10 crore, as reported by India Today. It remains unclear whether she continues to own these units.
She is also believed to own another apartment in Worli purchased in 2014. According to CNBC TV and other publicly available data, this property was valued at approximately Rs 9 crore.
