New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will begin train services early at 4:00 am on August 15, 2025, to help people attending the Independence
Day events in the capital. This early start is a special arrangement aimed at easing travel for citizens, guests, and invitees coming to the celebrations. Normally, trains start later in the morning, but on this occasion, services from all terminal stations will run half-hourly between 4:00 am and 6:00 am. After 6:00 am, the metro will follow its regular schedule for the day, ensuring smooth travel for everyone. Special guests holding official Invitation Cards from the Ministry of Defence will receive exclusive QR-coded tickets. These will allow them to travel conveniently to and from the event venue. The cost of their metro travel will be reimbursed by the Ministry of Defence, making their journey hassle-free. The nearest metro stations to the Independence Day ceremony are Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate. These will serve as key access points for attendees and VIPs alike. The DMRC’s early start and special arrangements demonstrate its effort to make travel easy and comfortable during this important national celebration. Commuters are advised to plan their trips accordingly and take advantage of the extended metro services on Independence Day.
