After an afternoon of extreme heat, rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday (March 30). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a "yellow
alert" for today. This comes as March saw a mix of weather patterns, with several days of rain reported after mid-month. According to today's Delhi forecast, the met department predicted cloudy sky and a spell of light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The rain brought relief from the scorching heat that gripped the national capital and surrounding areas in the past few days. The IMD predicted that strong surface winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph in the afternoon.
Will It Rain Again in Delhi This Week?
According to the IMD, Delhi is set to experience rain on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday this week. However, the weather department has not issued any warnings for this week.
The maximum temperature this week will hit 37 degrees Celsius, making the people feel the heat, while the minimum temperature will drop to 18 degrees Celsius.
IMD data show that March recorded about 20 per cent more rainfall than usual, yet daytime temperatures remained above seasonal norms, with the average maximum at 32.4°C and the average minimum at 17.4 degrees Celsius.

Rain Hits Parts of Noida
Not just Delhi, parts of Noida also witnessed light rain on Monday, with IMD issuing a yellow alert for the city. The met department predicted that the city will see one or two spells of rain or thundershowers with gusty winds of speed 30-40 kmph.
Later this week, the rain is expected to hit Noida on Saturday and Sunday, while the rest week, people will see clear skies and no warning has been issued.
