Major options available for GATE qualifiers
Admission to MTech and PhD ProgramsWith the help of a valid GATE scorecard, candidates can gain admission to Master's programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Humanities, and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities, in institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Financial Assistance
The GATE 2026 scorecard can also be utilized for securing financial assistance in the above-mentioned programs. MTech students can avail themselves of a scholarship of Rs. 12,400 per month for a period of 22 months.
Students willing to pursue PhD programs (Direct Ph.D. after B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc equivalent with a valid GATE score) will receive a scholarship of Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year.
