Several parts of Delhi witnessed rainfall, hailstorm and strong winds on Wednesday night, bringing temporary relief from the heat but also causing sudden
weather disruption across the city. Visuals from areas such as Uttam Nagar and around the Delhi Airport showed heavy rain, hailstones and gusty winds affecting normal movement and reducing visibility in some places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a yellow alert for the national capital, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph during the evening and night hours. According to the IMD forecast, Delhi is expected to record a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Weather to Remain Clear After Rain
The weather department said conditions are likely to improve from Wednesday onwards. On May 14 and 15, Delhi is expected to witness partly cloudy skies with no weather warning in place. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 39 and 40 degrees Celsius.
From May 16 onwards, the city is expected to experience mainly clear skies, with temperatures rising up to 41 degrees Celsius by the weekend.
