A large fire broke out in a garden-style apartment building in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania. Several residents were trapped inside the building.
Emergency crews carried out multiple rescue operations to save the victims. The fire broke out at an apartment complex located at 3200 Township Line Road, also known as Llanerch Place. Thick smoke and flames spread through the building as firefighters rushed in to save people who were unable to escape on their own. Fire officials stated that a second alarm was called as the situation worsened, bringing in more firefighters and equipment from nearby areas. Several occupants were reported trapped inside the building, and rescue operations were actively underway. Ladders were used and firefighters entered smoke-filled apartments to bring people out safely. Authorities said there are multiple victims, though the exact number and their conditions have not yet been officially confirmed.
Rescue Operation And Traffic Disruptions
Due to the severity of the fire and the number of people involved, an EMS disaster box was requested to the spot to handle medical emergencies. Ambulances and emergency medical teams treated victims for injuries and smoke inhalation.
Township Line Road has been shut down in both directions because of the fire and unsafe conditions, and officials said the road will remain closed for a long time.
