What is the story about?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) concluded the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December session exam on January 7. The exams
were conducted in Computer Based Format (CBT) between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026. Following the pattern, NTA will release the provisional answer key and will invite objections against the same. The experts assigned will go through the objections. If any of it is found correct, it will get reflected in the final answer key and result. Typically the provisional answer key is released within about 5–14 days after the exam ends. In some sessions, answer keys were released 5–7 days after the conclusion of the exam.

Here's how to check the UGC NET answer key
- Step 1: One should go to the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in
- Step 2: On the homepage, candidates should look for latest news section
- Step 3: In the next step, candidates should click on the link that reads “UGC NET Provisional Answer Key”. (Once released)
- Step 4: Then they will have to log in using their application number and Date of Birth/Password.
- Step 5: The answer key PDF will appear on the screen
- Step 6: Go through the same and download it
UGC NET exam pattern
The paper comprised two sections with objective-type multiple-choice questions. The 50 questions in Part 1 assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. Section B is based on the subject selected by the candidate and assesses the domain knowledge. This section had a total of 100 questions carrying 2 marks each. Candidates had to report to their respective centres ahead of the reporting time.
