The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the registration deadline for NEET PG 2025 counselling process. As per the official notice released
by MCC today (December 23), NEET PG aspirants have time till December 26 to resign from the existing round and apply for the next one. As per the new schedule, the resignation window opened at 2 pm on December 22 (Monday), and will close on December 26, 2025 at 6 pm. "MCC is in receipt of many requests from PG candidates who want to resign their Round-1 or Round-2 seats since the state counselling results are being declared. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to extend the time of resignation for such candidates. The candidates who desire to leave their Round-1 or Round-2 seat can do so from 02:00 PM on 22.12.2025 up to 06:00 PM on 26.12.2025," an official notice stated. Additionally, candidates who got upgraded in Round 2, joined the upgraded seat, but now want to resign from their seat can vacate their seat with forfeiture of the security deposit within the stipulated time of resignation. It is important to note that candidates will have to report physically at the allotted college to resign their seat. Candidates are advised to ensure that their resignation letter is generated through the portal provided by MCC by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as “Null & Void”, MCC stated in the official notice. NEET PG counselling 2025 Round 2 seat allotment result was announced on December 16. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate (NEET PG) is an annual medical exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which tests the MBBS graduates for admission in medical postgraduate programmes in government or private medical colleges across the country. It is conducted for admission in various courses such as MD (Doctor of Medicine), MS (Master of Surgery), and PG Diploma in India.
