Large-scale infrastructural gaps have come to light following CJP’s inspection of government schools in Rajasthan's Udaipur. From dilapidated structures
to defunct washrooms and rotten food served to children, the party’s co-convener flagged what he termed “hellish conditions” at multiple schools and said, “There isn't a single school where anyone would want to send their child to study.” Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Co-convener Ashutosh Ranka posted a tweet on Monday saying, “I have visited 25 schools in Udaipur district in the last 4 days. There isn't a single school where anyone would want to send their child to study. Even 80 years after independence, the original inhabitants of this country are still educating their children in such hellish conditions. The governments should feel ashamed. They should drown and die.”
Under the #Adivasischoolthikkaro campaign, Ranka visited a government school on Monday to assess the conditions in which students have been studying. The video shared by him featured a Udaipur-based school in a run-down condition, with broken ceiling walls and a washroom covered with overgrown grass, posing a threat to students' safety. He questioned the government about whether the tribal students whose parents fought to protect their land and forests deserved such treatment.
Flagging the deplorable condition of the school, Ranka posed a question to the government, asking whether Rajasthan’s Minister for School Education, Madan Dilawar, would send his children to this school.
In another government school situated at Jawar Mines, Udaipur, Ranka highlighted an unsanitary drinking fountain with discoloured and smelly water. The washrooms were also found in a dilapidated condition.
“The water in the government school at Jawar Mines, Udaipur, is discoloured. It smells bad. The toilet is completely wrecked. There isn't a single school worth looking at in the entire area,” Ranka wrote in his tweet.
'Will Madan Dilawar Feed Same Food to His Children?': Ranka Questions
The co-convener had earlier posted a video stating that children were being served food prepared in unhygienic conditions. In the video, Ranka could be seen assessing the school's kitchen and surrounding area, showing what he alleged were rotten grains, vegetables and food items lying on the ground.
Raising questions over the meal quality being served to the students, he asked the Education Minister, “Will Madan Dilawar feed the same food to his children as well?”
The state-wise inspections of government schools across India are being carried out under CJP’s #SchoolThikKaro campaign, aimed at identifying the issues faced by schools and helping improve their infrastructure and accountability.
