Mumbai: Commuters on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 will need to adjust their morning schedules next week as train timings are temporarily revised to facilitate
the integration of the upcoming Metro Line 9 Phase-I. The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) announced that services will begin later than usual between October 12 and 18.
Morning Services to Begin at 7 AM
During this seven-day period, operations on both Metro Line 2A (Dahisar East–Andheri West) and Line 7 (Gundavali–Ovaripada) will commence from 7 am instead of the regular 5.25 am start, as per a TOI report. The temporary schedule aims to accommodate essential system integration work and safety trials for the new Line 9 section connecting Dahisar East to Kashi Gaon.
From Dahanukarwadi, the first train to Gundavali will depart at 7.01 am on weekdays, 7 am on Saturday, and 7.04 am on Sunday, while the first train to Andheri West will leave at 7.06 am on weekdays, 6.58 am on Saturday, and 6.59 am on Sunday. Similarly, from Dahisar East, the first service to Andheri West will begin at 7.02 am daily, and the first to Gundavali at 6.58 am on weekdays, 7.06 am on Saturday, and 7.01 am on Sunday.
From Andheri West, the first train to Gundavali will start at 7.01 am on weekdays, 7.02 am on Saturday, and 7.04 am on Sunday. In return, from Gundavali, the first train towards Andheri West will depart at 7.06 am on weekdays, 7.02 am on Saturday, and 7 am on Sunday.

Line 9 Nears Final Phase of Trials
Officials explained that the schedule adjustment is crucial for the final round of system integration and safety trials on Line 9, an extension of the Red Line that will connect Andheri with Mira Bhayander. The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) concluded its inspection of the Phase-I section on September 23, and independent safety assessments are currently underway.Following the completion of these checks, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will be invited for a final inspection before the line’s commissioning in December.
