Monsoon and a good downpour– for which many were praying for just a few months ago, amid extreme heat and heatwaves- ended up turning into the very nightmare
that has left multiple cities crippled in India. Several parts of the country, including the Delhi-NCR region, are witnessing severe waterlogging, flooding and other rain-related issues. Amid the same, a rather chilling video came forward from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, that not only raised questions on the city's drainage system but also on its lack of road maintenance. The horrifying video showed an auto- filled with many passengers- overturning on the road due to severe waterlogging. As per PTI, the auto-rickshaw had overturned after hitting a pothole on the waterlogged stretch. As soon as commuters nearby spotted the mishap, they rushed to help the driver and the passengers. As per PTI, the passengers were able to escape the accident with minor injuries. In the last few days, heavy spells in Ghaziabad have led to severe waterlogging across major roads and low-lying residential sectors in the city, causing massive traffic congestion. The rest of the Delhi-NCR is also reeling under the same issue. Times Now could not confirm the details of the post. As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react. “Our country India is dying and politicians are making fun of our news channels by stating that they find it funny and entertaining shows,” a user said. “This is the state of affairs in Ghaziabad in ‘Uttam Pradesh’! Under the perfect government, the drainage system is so poor that roads have turned into rivers,” added another.
