Delhi woke up to pleasant, humid weather on Thursday, with the minimum temperature hovering around 27 degree C. According to the India Meteorological Department
(IMD), the national capital is likely to witness very light rain or drizzle at isolated places during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 33 degree C, while the minimum is likely to remain near 24°C. Humidity levels are expected to remain high, ranging between 80 per cent and 95 per cent, making the weather feel muggy despite the relatively moderate temperatures. The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light rain for Thursday. No weather warning has been issued for Delhi. The weather is expected to remain largely similar over the next few days. On July 24, Delhi is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle, while from July 25 to July 28, the city is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with maximum temperatures ranging between 33°C and 34°C. No warnings have been issued for the upcoming days. Rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Wednesday, bringing down the maximum temperature to 33.6 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches below normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Rain was reported from several parts of the city, including Lutyens' Delhi, Jantar Mantar, Safdarjung and Sangam Vihar, with waterlogging witnessed in some areas. The Safdarjung observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded 12 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours till 8.30 am. Aya Nagar recorded the highest rainfall at 20.1 mm, followed by Palam (18.7 mm), Safdarjung (12 mm) and Lodhi Road (9.8 mm), while the Ridge recorded trace rainfall. Among other weather stations, Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius, 2.3 notches below normal, followed by the Ridge at 33.2 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches below normal, Lodhi Road at 33.1 degrees Celsius, 0.9 notches below normal, and Aya Nagar at 32 degrees Celsius, 2.8 notches below normal. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the city and forecast a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph during the evening and night. Relative humidity was recorded at 100 per cent in the evening hours. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 65 in the "satisfactory" category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). According to the CPCB's AQI scale, a reading between 0 and 50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor" and 401-500 "severe."
