Goa Nightclub Tragedy: The Interpol has issued a 'Blue Corner Notice' against the owners of the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub, said Goa Chief Minister
Pramod Sawant's office, according to PTI. A massive fire at the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in North Goa's Arpora, some 25 kilometres away from Panaji, on late Saturday night claimed 25 lives. Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, the owners of the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora where the incident happened, are believed to have fled to Phuket, Thailand, hours after the tragedy, the Goa Police said on Monday. Earlier today, the Goa Police had approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for issuance of an Interpol Blue Notice against Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, the main accused and owners of the Goa nightclub, after they fled the country.
Goa CM Pramod Sawant on Monday ordered the razing of Romeo Lane beach shack owned by Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra at Vagator.
What It Means?
The Interpol Blue Notice is issued to collect additional information about a person's identity, location or activities in relation to a criminal investigation.
The Red Notice, which calls for detention of the fugitive, can only be issued after a charge sheet is filed and a Non-Bailable Warrant is issued against the wanted person.

How 'Birch by Romeo Lane' Owner Fled India
Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, who are wanted in connection with the fire tragedy, had fled to Thailand. According to a statement issued by the Goa Police, the owners fled to Phuket at 5:30 AM on December 7 in an IndiGo Airlines plane, just hours after the incident. The owners' escape was discovered after a massive manhunt was launched following the filing of an FIR.
During the probe, it was found from the immigration records that the duo took flight IndiGo flight 6E 1073 to Phuket, Thailand, at 5:30 AM on Sunday, December 7, just hours after the incident took place around midnight.
A senior official told news agency that this swift exit by Luthras shows their "intent to avoid the police investigation."
The officials had visited the house of Gaurav and Saurabh Lutha in Delhi and questioned their family members.
